Summer!

Today was the last day of sophomore year!

Now I can dedicate my time to blogging!

Good news: I'm going to stay with my dad in New York this summer for about a month, then after that I'm going to Italy so there will be plenty of clothing creation projects and such that I can write about.

Here's what I'm hoping to make.

Topshop jacket - $200
worn by: Olivia Palermo

Kinda tacky but I think it could be cool...

Moschino coat in Kill Bill.
Not sure if I would just stick onto a jacket, but MY GOD what a beautiful coat.

Sheena May Be A Punk Rocker . . . But So Am I

My recently discovered obsession with the Strokes has led me to admire Julian Casablancas. Not only him, but his jackets. Some of those jackets are the most beautiful things I have ever seen. I've searched for them loads, but came to realize that they're probably custom.

Anyway, there they are.

I'm looking for a white leather motorcyle jacket, hopefully used and messed up, and then I want to recreate that white chess board jacket.

Just like that one ^

I was actually shopping around Soho with my step mom and was in the midst of my chessboard leather jacket obsession and we stumbled into a closing Juno Shoes store.

This place was the SHIT. Dozens of boxes with 'Final Sale' stickers were covering the tiled floor. In the back there were some rickety clothing racks with oddball jackets, dresses, scarves, belts, shirts; what have you: all on 50% discount (75% if you looked stubborn)

It was there that I spotted my dream jacket. It was originally $650; I guess I looked super pitiful because the sales' girl said I could buy it for $200. She went even lower: $150.

Still, it was too much for me. Yes, I just wasted your time with this rant because I didn't even buy the jacket. The point is, if any of you know of any motorcycle jackets, comment or email meee !! I'm determined to make this happen !!

I would love to buy this one:

But I'm not a big fan of the back of it.

If you like it, buy it, because it seems pretty cool.

Here's another one:

Anyway, check out Etsy; it's got great stuff.

Meow?

Apparently, kitten heels are making a comeback? While I'm not a big fan, Marc Jacobs is my obsession and I love this color combination.

However, the socks + loafer-ish style shoes reminded me of these shoes:

Joan & David - eBay
Manolo Blahnik - eBay as well.
Thought I'd throw in some shots with a bit of pizazz.

I think the shoes are adorbs, but you have no idea how uncomfortable they are.

Part of the reason could be that my feet have grown from a semi-normal size 8 to a slightly abnormal 8.5 overnight.

If there is a God, please - stop my feet from growing.
I live in Houston, thus, no oceans, therefore: NO REASON FOR FLIPPERS.

Flower Vest

Not such great pictures, but it's an ankle-length, full skirt on the bottom half.
I've always wanted an open-back dress, but this didn't work out.
I started by ripping the two pieces of the dress apart.
Once they were ripped apart, I pinned the fringed seams and then went to sew them down.
I have a lot of extra fabric now which I'm going to use for a skirt.
The main change that I made was that the front of the vest was the back of the dress.

Anyway...suggestions, comments, etc?

Here We Go (Again)

Here is my crafts' blog.

I'm trying to learn how to sew and make my own clothes.

Probably one post a week (because I'll have to make the clothes) but I'm going to try my best.

Here goes!
